I'm proud to introduce my new branding package. I'd been working on it now for a few weeks between my courses and any little spare time I could get.
I first started by reflecting on myself as an entrepreneur or freelancer in the field of graphic design. I created a moodboard with lots of images for inspiration that depicted my style preferences in everything from art, to home decor, clothing, colors, architecture, etc. I found inspiration in things like bathroom tile patterns!
I also wrote words that describe my style: contemporary, modern, but classic, clean, timeless, feminine.
Next, I got my sketchbook and started sketching. I started thinking of the typography I'd use. Would I use sans serif as I had in the past, or would I choose something more classic like a serif? Or maybe handwritten? Would I want a graphic element or simply text?
Finally, after lots of thinking, lots of sketching, lots of playing and trying different fonts, colors, and more....this is my final brand package:
I'm incredibly happy with the final outcome. It truly shows my style and blends modern elements with a beautiful, modern serif font.
The submark of the square turned to a 45 degree angle is my favorite element. It is meant to look abstract, but there was a lot of planning and thinking that went into it and it is of great significance to me personally. I must've sketched it out at least 10 different ways and put it together about 10 different ways in Adobe Illustrator before finally being happy with it.
Branding is probably at the top of my list when it comes to my favorite projects to work on. I hope it shows.
