Italian Escapade

Italian Escapade is a wholesaler of tourist ancillary services in Italy. This company is built on a foundation of trust and aims to maintain a one-to-one approach with clients.

Objective

The company was looking to rebrand their logo and they wanted something geometric with a friendly icon, but that still remained professional. They deal with travel professionals all over the world, so they wanted to keep the tone sober without being excessively formal. In essence, the logo needed to become a reliable reference point for any operator planning travels to Italy.

Target Audience

The target audience is very wide and encompasses operators specializing in luxury travel to companies operating at an economical price level.

Design Strategy

My strategy was to create a simple icon that was not the typical travel icon: airplanes, luggage, etc. It needed to blend both Italian culture with travel. Because the client wanted a geometric logo, I knew I would use a sans-serif font; I just had to find the right one.

Concept

Upon doing research, I found that many people use vespas to get around in Italy. Along with other concepts that included the Leaning Tower of Pisa and an abstract triangle icon, the client liked the vespa idea.
